Precautions For Using CNC Bending Machines

Dec 20, 2025 Leave a message

Strictly adhere to machine tool safety operating procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required.

Before starting, carefully check that the motor, switches, wiring, and grounding are normal and secure. Check that all operating parts and buttons of the equipment are in the correct positions.

Check the alignment and firmness of the upper and lower dies; check that all positioning devices meet the processing requirements.

If the upper slide and all positioning axes are not at their home positions, run the return-to-home program.

After starting the equipment, run it idle for 1-2 minutes, and move the upper slide through its full stroke 2-3 times. If any abnormal sounds or malfunctions are detected, stop the machine immediately, troubleshoot the problem, and only resume operation after everything is normal.

During operation, one person must be in overall command, ensuring close cooperation between the operator and the material feeding and pressing personnel. The bending signal should only be given when all personnel are in safe positions.

The sheet metal must be firmly pressed during bending to prevent it from lifting and causing injury.

When adjusting the sheet metal press die, the power must be switched off and the machine stopped before making adjustments.

When changing the opening of the variable lower die, no material should be in contact with the lower die.

No one is allowed to stand at the rear of the machine during operation.

It is strictly forbidden to press and bend sheet metal at only one end.

If the workpiece or mold is found to be misaligned during operation, stop the machine and correct the alignment. It is strictly forbidden to correct the alignment by hand during operation to prevent hand injuries.

It is forbidden to bend excessively thick iron plates, hardened steel plates, high-grade alloy steel, square steel, or sheet metal exceeding the performance limits of the sheet metal bending machine, to avoid damaging the machine.

Regularly check the alignment of the upper and lower dies; check that the pressure gauge reading conforms to the specifications.

If any abnormality occurs, stop the machine immediately, investigate the cause, and resolve the problem promptly.

Before shutting down, place wooden blocks under the lower die on both sides of the hydraulic cylinders and lower the upper slide onto the wooden blocks.

First exit the control system program, then switch off the power.
